of Federal Polytechnics and National Board for Technical
Education (NBTE) have called for the amendment of the law
establishing the federal polytechnics.
Rev (Dr.) Alexander
Lar)-Head Yaba College of Technology Governing Council
This call was made at
a two-day retreat organised for newly appointed members of the
governing councils of federal polytechnics and their
principal officers in Kaduna recently. In a Communiqué
issued at the end of the workshop, the participants agreed
that there is the need for the laws setting up federal polytechnics
to be amended to allow NBTE to be represented on the Councils
of the federal polytechnics as is the case with Colleges of
Education. Pending the amendment, the participants agreed
that the federal polytechnics should co-opt NBTE representative
