Engr. (Dr) Mobolaji A. Onasanya is the incumbent Dean of the School of Engineering. He had his Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, and obtained his BSc. and MSc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos. He additionally had a Master in Project Management (MPM) before he bagged his doctorate degree in Renewable Energy from De Montfort University, United Kingdom.
Dr. Onasanya joined the services of the college in the year 2000 and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in 2017. Before his election as the Dean of Engineering in the year 2020, he has served at various levels and in various capacities in the college - including as a 2-term Head of Electrical/Electronics Engineering Department. His period as the Head of Department witnessed modest but remarkable advancements among both staff and students, including facilitating an existing MOU between Schneider Electric Nigeria Ltd. and the College. Dr. Onasanya has also served a number of tertiary intuitions in various academic capacities. He was once an Adjunct Lecturer in the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Dr. Onasanya has attended a number of local and international conferences where he presented seasoned papers. He has also published numerous academic journal papers. He is a member notable professional bodies including the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). His academic interests cuts across Electrical Power Systems and Renewable Energy & Sustainable Development.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Onasanya has proved himself as a consummate team leader that adapts well to challenging situations. He possesses a flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated personality with a deep sense of humanness. He believes that an enriched human resources is the hallmark asset of any outstanding organisation, and therefore pursues the progression and empowerments of both staff and students with vigour.
