DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE
The Department was carved out from the former Department of Science Laboratory Technology in 1998; hence, it has been training students in the field of Biology, Environmental Biology and Microbiology for over two decades. Besides its active involvement in teaching, the department has an outstanding reputation in research and development within and outside Yaba College of Technology.
The knowledge and skills imbibed by diplomates of programmes offered by this department make them marketable and capable enough to discharge their duties creditably well as asserted to by employers ratings. These achievements of the department have so far proved the strength and competence of effective knowledge delivery through teaching and research which are the direct results of the devotion to duty of its well-qualified staff members and cooperation of colleagues from Other Departments.
The department is currently involved in the training of students both at the ND (National Diploma) in conjunction with the other sister departments in the School of Science (namely Chemical Science, Physical Science and Mathematics) and the HND (Higher National Diploma) levels in two areas Microbiology and Environmental Biology
