Adumati Emerges As Yabatech Nasu Chairman

The long awaited Non Academic Staff Union Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) election of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) chapter has eventually taken place, in which Comrade Adumati George Muyiwa (Admin Officer in the School of Technical Education) emerged as the new Chairman to champion the affairs of the union in the next four years.
Adumati, the former Secretary of the union succeeded Comrade Ilesanmi Olatubosun who completed his tenure as Chairman early this year.
The newly elected Chairman polled 186 votes to defeat Adebayo Sanusi who polled 133 votes, Ekong Matthew who got 72 votes, Muib Kehinde who got 25 votes, Akinyoade Kayode who had 8 votes and Onabote Olalekan who had 7 votes respectively.
In the keenly contested election that took place at the Multipurpose Hall on July 9, 2019, Comrade Balogun Fatai won the Secretary General post with 189 votes to beat the following comrades: Atilo Donatus 97 votes, Sikiru Akanji 70 votes, Omichabor Kenneth 31 votes, Omobajesu Oluwasegun 23 votes and Olanrewaju Clement with 13 votes.
Likewise, the position of Treasurer was won by Comrade Adegbite Oluranti with a total vote of 146, to defeat Comrade Ibitayo Helen who polled 136 votes and Comrade Adekoya Oluwaseyi who had 133 votes.
The election was conducted by National Executive of NASU led by the Deputy General Secretary of NASU, Comrade Adetunji Ademisoye.
Adumati implored the contestants and entire NASU members to cooperate with the new executive to paddle the canoe of the union to the land of fulfillment, he thereby pledged to take the union to the next level and move it to enviable height.
The newly elected executive will team up with 5 ex-officio members to form a formidable team.
