WE TRAIN SELF-RELIANT ENTREPRENEUR - RECTOR

The Rector of Yaba College of Technology, Dr Abdul Adedotun Ibraheem has declared that all admitted student would offer compulsory courses in entrepreneur as the College no longer trains job seeking graduates.

The Rector made this known last week Wednesday at the matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted students. He informed the gathering that the College has some compulsory courses that must be offered and passed by all students. One of these, according to him, is entrepreneurial studies which “trains you from your first day in school to be self-reliant.”

He said it was expected that by the time the students graduate from the College, they must have acquired necessary skills that would make them successful entrepreneurs and employers of labour. Dr. Abdul informed the students that the College was the first higher institution in country to establish a full-fledged Centre for Entrepreneurship Development with strong linkages with the world of commerce and industry.

He therefore encouraged them to take maximum advantage the course in addition to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) studies. He implored them to explore to the fullest all the College's facilities including the sports and the health centre. According to him, the College encourages participation of students in sporting activities and has one of the best sporting facilities in the country.
